ACCO's Adaptation Working Group recently conducted research on barriers to implementing climate adaptation plans in organizations through a survey of 423 climate practitioners across sectors. The findings from this report highlight challenges and opportunities that climate professionals are facing in the field today. Members of the ACCO Adaptation Working Group will present these findings in a session that will also include a facilitated Q&A session, discussions on opportunities for future activities and suggested next steps for advancing climate adaptation efforts.

Purpose

The purpose of the meeting is to:

• Share the findings from the "Barriers to Implementing Climate Adaptation Plans" Report;
• Explore synergies with other organizations interested in the ACCO Adaptation Working Group's efforts; and
• Identify opportunities for future research projects and collaborations with other organizations.

The workshops are open to all participants of the Climate Leadership Conference. Companies, consultants, NGOs, and government representatives are all invited to participate in this meeting.

There is no fee to attend.

When and Where?

The meeting will be held at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Conference Center from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Lunch will be provided to attendees. Attendees will be asked to sign up for this workshop during registration for the conference. Space is limited and will be made available on a first come, first served basis.

Registration for this meeting is embedded in the main registration for the 2012 Climate Leadership Conference -- simply select the workshop you plan to attend ... space is limited to the first 40 registrants selecting the meeting. Any remaining registrants will be added to a waiting list in case of cancellations.
